Elder / Dependent Adult Abuse Charges Dismissed

Michael’s client was charged with elder abuse following a family dispute concerning false allegations of financial, psychological and emotional abuse. Through discovery, our office issued subpoenas for financial records and also secured evidence of prior false reports to adult protective services. This unveiled a clear motive by the complaining witness who sought a financial advantage.  After providing the District Attorney with this evidence as well as substantial mitigation materials outlining the family and procedural history, the District Attorney dismissed the charges and dissolved the criminal protective order on her own motion.
