Felony Gun Charges Dismissed Following Motion to Suppress Evidence

March 2023

Our client was arrested by LAPD after he was observed engaged in a music video shoot downtown. Our client, a convicted felon. Is prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm or even ammunition. LAPD officers attempted to support the detention and search of their vehicle under the theory that they had trespassed on train tracks and parked illegally. Initial plea discussions resulted a felony offer with no time in custody. Insisting that the detention and search were illegal, our office obtained all body worn video and other recordings and filed a motion to suppress evidence. After reading the motion and reviewing body worn video, the District Attorney’s office moved to dismiss all charges. We commend the District Attorney taking the time to review all materials and make the right decision on this case.
