4 Felony Charges Dismissed in Aggravated Domestic Violence Case

Michael’s client was charged with the following felonies: criminal threats, battery with serious bodily injury, violation of a domestic relation restraining order and domestic violence causing great bodily injury. The charges arose out of an altercation while staying at an upscale Santa Barbara hotel. Hotel security contacted law enforcement resulting in the arrest of our client. Through our investigation, we secured prior arrest reports involving violence, theft and felony DUI. In one of those prior arrests, the alleged victim was arrested for assaulting police officers after being escorted off of a commercial airline due to her level of intoxication. After turning over these reports to the District Attorney at the time of the preliminary hearing, Michael negotiated a disposition for a simple misdemeanor battery, 12 months of summary probation and 18 hours of anger management counseling.
